Milton L. Cooper
December 24, 1925 - April 6, 2005

Milton L. Cooper, 79, Salina, died Wednesday, April 6, 2005.

Mr. Cooper was born Dec. 24, 1925, in Glasco. He was a high school English and History Instructor, Track and Basketball Coach in Scandia and Gaylord, KS. He was later Superintendent of Schools in Scandia and Quinter, KS for over twenty years. He was a member of the Scandia Masonic Blue Lodge and a WWII Navy Veteran.

He was preceded in death by his wife, June Loreen, in 2001; his parents, Roy Cooper and the former Rose Haley; a granddaughter, Jennifer Barlow, in 1999; and a grandson, Robert Lee, in 1989.

Survivors include a daughter, Nancy Barlow of Lyons; three sons, Alan of Moore, Okla., Stevan of Chase and Richard of Hays; five grandchildren, Katie Barlow, Shelley Cooper, Susan Cooper, Marie Woods and Janet Morgan; and two great-grandchildren, David Cooper and Christopher Morgan.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina 67401, with the Rev. Paul Robbins officiating. Burial will be in Glasco City Cemetery at 1 p.m. Monday, with military honors presented by U.S. Army, Fort Riley.

Memorials may be made to Quinter High School.

Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. Sunday, where the family will receive friends from 1 to 4 p.m. and before service time Monday at the funeral home.
