Lois I. Eagleton

Lois I. Eagleton, 76, Salina, died Saturday, February 19, 2005.

Mrs. Eagleton was born Lois I. Stuewe on Jan. 4, 1929, in Alma. She was a 1951 graduate of Kansas State University. She married Harold W. Eagleton, June 10, 1951, in St. John’s Lutheran Church,Alma.

She taught school at Gypsum, Kansas Wesleyan University and Salina South High School. She was a volunteer for Trinity Lutheran Church, Salina Regional Heath Center, the Morrison House and the Salina Art Center. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, P.E.O., Chapter BX; Salina Country Club Ladies Golf Association, Salina Regional Health Center Auxiliary, Salina Art Center and Kansas State University Alumni Association. She enjoyed golfing, cooking, sewing, painting and knitting.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Frieda Stuewe; and a brother, Alfred Stuewe.

Survivors include her husband, Harold Eagleton of Salina; a son, Mark and wife Linda of Leawood; two daughters, Lynn Gillam and husband Jeff of Salina and Carol Eagleton of Chicago; three brothers, Don Stuewe of Casper, Wyo., Norm Stuewe of Lawrence and Maurice Stuewe of Alma; and four grandchildren, Tyler and Sydney Eagleton of Leawood and Matthew and Christopher Gillam of Salina.

The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Salina, the Revs. Charles Adams and Robert Schaedel officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park, Salina.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the church foundation, Tammy Walker Cancer Center, Kansas State University Human Ecology or Hospice of Salina.

Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. today at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina 67401, where the family will receive friends.
