Mr. Haist was born October 11, 1937 at Salina. He worked as a custodian for U.S.D. 305 schools.

Survivors include his wife, Edna of the home; three daughters, Dawn Marie Haist of Salina, Ruth Ann Holgerson and husband Victor of Salina, and Carol Sue Keller and husband Michael of Salina; and five grandchildren, Victoria Ann Holgerson, Douglas Christian Holgerson, Mercedez Lane Keller, Anne Marie Keller, and Sean Michael Keller.

A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 23, 2005 at the First Church of the Nazarene, 1425 S. Ohio. Private inurnment will be in the Miltonvale Cemetery, Miltonvale.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association.

There will be no visitation.
