Gregory Ray Hoesli
August 1, 1947 - March 6, 2005

Gregory Ray Hoesli, 57, Salina, died Sunday, March 6, 2005.

Mr. Hoesli was born Aug. 1, 1947, in Concordia. He was a mechanical engineer for Ball Aerospace and Coronado Engineering and was currently with Profab of Minneapolis. He also was an educator, teaching in Illinois and Kansas, an aircraft mechanic instructor at the Emily Griffith Opportunity School and a yard foreman for Union Railroad. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin in 1967, the University of Kansas in 1970, the Emily Griffith Opportunity School in 1974 and 1976 and the University of Colorado in 1986. He was a member of Central Kansas Flywheels, Kansas Antique Engine Show Safety Association and was acting secretary for the Kansas Steam Engine Association.

He was preceded in death by his father, Harry H. Hoesli Sr.

Survivors include his mother, Eleanor, of Salina; a sister, Etoys Rice and husband Rex of Delphos; a brother, Harry H. Hoesli Jr. and wife Sally of Wichita; five nephews, Steven Rice and wife Marilee, Bruce Rice and wife Susan, David Rice and wife Lori, Brian Rice and wife Jana and Curtis Rice and wife Violet.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Memorials may be made to Salina Public Library or Hospice of Salina.

There will be no visitation.
