Delbert H. Lefort
February 23, 1931 - October 4, 2005

Delbert H. Lefort, 74, Salina, died Tuesday, October 4, 2005.

Mr. Lefort was born Delbert Henry Lefort on Feb. 23, 1931, in Jamestown. He and his son, Stan, owned and operated D&S Service for over 30 years. He was a sergeant in the United States Army serving in the Korean War. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting and farming.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Dorothy (Pounds) Lefort; a brother, Kenneth Lefort; and a sister, Ramona Hare.

Survivors include his wife, Donna, of the home; a son, Stan Lefort and wife Deborah of Assaria; a daughter, Sue Lefort of Salina; two sisters, Gwen Lefort of Concordia and Phyllis McDaniel and husband Bill of Santa Maria, Calif.; a brother-in-law, Bill Hare of Wharton, Texas; five grandchildren, Stephanie Lefort, Sherry Lefort, Virgil Searcy, Christina Lefort and Dylan Lefort; and two great-grandchildren, Madison Searcy and Avery Lefort.

The funeral will be at 9 a.m. Friday at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina 67401, the Rev. Paul Robbins officiating. Burial will be in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Concordia, with military honors presented by the Concordia American Legion.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Salina.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at the mortuary, where the family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m.
