Mrs. Liester was born Bertha E. Frazey on December 12, 1919 at McGraw Community, Kansas. She was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Chester "Chet" Liester in 1980; two brothers, Zane Frazey and Warren Frazey; and a sister, Ramona Frazey.

Survivors include a son, Clifford Joe Liester of San Diego, CA; a daughter, Dale Liester of Salina; a brother, Forrest Frazey of Hoxie; a sister, Rose Carder of Hoxie; a sister-in-law, Edith Frazey of Hoxie; three grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
