Mr. Thayer was born June 23, 1979, in Salina. He was a construction laborer.

Survivors include his father, John of Salina; his mother, Patty Thayer of Salina; a sister, Penny Thayer of Salina; his stepfather, Chris DeGraw of Salina; and two stepbrothers, Terry DeGraw and Paul DeGraw, both of Salina.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina 67401. There will be a private family inurnment at a later date.

Memorials may be made to the family.
