Mr. Bacon was born July 23, 1929, in Salina. He was a farmer and rancher. He was a member of the Isis Shrine Temple of Salina and the Shrine Engineer’s Unit. He married Elaine Armstrong on April 25, 1951, in Salina.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Verne L. and Belle E. (Shute) Bacon.

Survivors include his wife, Elaine, of Bavaria; two sons, Keith and Mark, both of Bavaria; a daughter, Jackie Bacon of Salina; and a grandson, Alex Bacon of Bavaria.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina 67401. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park, Salina.

Memorials may be made to the Shriners Children’s Hospitals or Kansas State University Athletic Fund.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the mortuary, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m.
