Mr. Bell was born July 20, 1936, in Niles. He owned and operated several restaurants in Salina over the past 52 years, including Scotty’s One Spot and Scotty’s Cafe. He retired in 2004. He married Janet Bland on July 29, 1962, in Salina.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Virginia, in 1961; a granddaughter, Rachelle Marie Sullivan, in 1985; and two brothers and two sisters.

Survivors include his wife, Janet, of Salina; a son, Jason Scott Bell of Salina; four daughters, Melody Hinnenkamp and husband Leo, Kara Fiske and husband Darrell and Nellye Bell, all of Salina, and Rena Bila of Overland Park; two sisters, Lorraine Ross of Santa Rosa, Calif., and Patricia Heath of Salina; and his grandchildren, Elizabeth Bell and Blake and Colton Bell, all of Salina, and Faith and Brock Bila of Overland Park.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina 67401. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Niles.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the mortuary.
