Don R. "Bob" Collins
September 26, 1917 - April 5, 2006

Don R. "Bob" Collins, 88, Salina, died Wednesday, April 5, 2006.

Mr. Collins was born Sept. 26, 1917, in Cuba, the son of Edgar James and Mary Roseanne (Gaylord) Collins. He was an agent for Republic Mutual Insurance Co. and The Vernon Co.

He was a first lieutenant in the U.S. Army during World War II.

He was a member and past president of the Heart of America Lions Club, over 60-year member of the Masonic Lodge 129, Belleville, the York Rite and Isis Shrine and a charter member of the Isis Greeters. He was a member of the Sunrise Presbyterian Church and the church Mariners.

He married Lucille Opal Ifland on July 25, 1947, in Gaylord.

Survivors include his wife, Lucille, of Salina; two sons, Bob and wife Mary of Council Grove and Barry and wife Linda of Salina; five grandchildren; Amy, Robert, John, Jess and Zac Collins; and two great-grandchildren, Elizabeth and Ava Collins.

The funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Sunrise Presbyterian Church, Salina, the Rev. John Pehrson, officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park, Salina.

Memorials may be made to Isis Shrine Travel Fund for Kids or the church.

Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. Sunday at Ryan Mortuary,137 N. Eighth, Salina 67401.
