Louise R. Gunzelman, 89, Salina, died Thursday, February 23, 2006. Mrs. Gunzelman was born Louise Rosetta Schmidt on Oct. 4, 1916, in Beloit. She was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar, in 1992; a grandson; and two great-grandsons. Survivors include two sons, David of Sylvan Grove and Leo of Wichita; five daughters, Dorothy Yost of Culver, Katie Bauman of Omaha, Neb., Mary Crumley of Wichita, Ruth St. John of Salina and Margaret Ridder of Davenport, Iowa; four brothers, George Schmidt of Hixson, Tenn., Carlos Schmidt of Beloit, Gerald Schmidt of Florida and Joseph “Pinky” Schmidt of Fort Worth, Texas; 18 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Sacred Heart Catholic Cathedral, Ninth and Iron Ave., Salina 67401. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Salina. A rosary will be said at 5 p.m. Sunday at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina 67401. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the cathedral or Alzheimer’s Association. Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. Sunday at the mortuary. |
