Olive E. Kelly, passed away peacefully at Holiday Resort Nursing Home on Monday, October 2, 2006 in Salina, Kansas at the age of 92 years. Olive was born to Charles and Pearl Topper in Mart, Texas on March 16, 1914. She was married to David C. Kelly at Great Bend, Kansas, August 24, 1930. She lived in Wichita before moving to Salina in 1980 to be close to her daughter, Nancy King. Olive was a member of the Eastern Star and a member of First United Methodist Church in Salina. While in Wichita she worked at Sears for several years and then was a Ward Clerk for Wesley Hospital, retiring in 1980. She was preceded in death by her husband, David C. Kelly and a daughter, Linda Sue Shurtleff. She is survived by two daughters, Nancy King and her husband, Dan of Salina; Patricia Williams and her husband, Don of Springfield, Co; a sister, Evelyn Schmoekel of Lubbock, TX; seven grandchildren, Jennifer King and her husband Michael Moyer of Ammon, ID; Lori Chart and her husband Mike of Salina; Mike Williams and his wife Charla of Amarillo, TX; Karen Williams Bowling and her husband Barry of Keller, TX; David Williams and his wife Linda of Doha Quatar; Erin Shurtleff Kaylor and her husband Brent of Wichita; and Megan Shurtleff of Wichita. Olive has ten great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. She leaves several nieces and nephews. The family will hold a private graveside service. In lieu of flowers the family requests a memorial to Holiday Resort Nursing Home, Salina in care of Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina 67401. |
