Mrs. Laning was born Verna L. Bunch on July 15, 1932, in Lincoln. She was a homemaker.

Her husband, Leo, died in 1983.

Survivors include three brothers, James W. Bunch, Donald D. Bunch and Gerald R. Bunch; and two sisters, Shirley J. Staley and Patricia A. Manning.

A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. today in Mount Calvary Cemetery.

There will be no visitation.
