Mrs. Montoy was born Alberta Vargas on Feb. 11, 1922, in Salina. She was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by a son, Darrell Montoy, in 1970; and a daughter, Beatrice Montoy, in 1941.

Survivors include her husband, Ismael, of Salina; two sons, Ismael Jr. and Vincent, both of Salina; five daughters, Claudia Moreno of Salina, Bernadette Lee of Yuba City, Calif., Phyllis Krause of New Boston, Mich., SanJuana Johnson of Bonner Springs and Eloise Martinez of Topeka; three sisters, Julia Moralez, Lillian Sanchez and Olivia Rojas, all of Salina; 14 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

A rosary will be said at 6:30 p.m. Friday at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina 67401. Private inurnment will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Salina.

Memorials may be made to Alberta Montoy Memorial Fund.

There will be no viewing. Mrs. Montoy has been cremated.
