Mrs. Nelson was born Lois M. Drummond on April 20, 1925, in Saline County, Kan., to George and Pearl (Magoon) Drummond. She attended and received her teaching credentials from Marymount College, Salina, Kan. She was an insurance agent with State Farm, retiring in 1985. She was a member of the Dakota Dance Club, the Minnesota/Dakota Dance Club and the Western Washington Dance Club, all of Washington.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold, in 1981; and a sister, Della Mae Danielson.

Survivors include two daughters, Linda Veil of Lancaster and Tonya Burnett of Kent, Wash.; a brother, Bob Drummond of New Cambria, Kan.; a sister, Norma Korbe of Lindsborg, Kan.; four grandchildren, Kimberly Richards and Heidi Arcidiacono, both of Quartz Hill, William Richards II of Lancaster and Christian Burnett of Kent; and two great-grandchildren, Bradley Hanaway of Lake Havasu City, Ariz., and Anthony Arcidiacono of Quartz Hill.

A graveside service will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in Greenville Cemetery, Niles, Kan.
