Mr. Novak was born march 16, 1930, in Belleville. He farmed in the Haddam area and was an employee of the City of Salina in the Green Thumb Program.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Edith Velma in 1985; his parents, Frank and Elise (Chop) Novak; and three brothers, Bob, Edwin and Arthur Novak.

Survivors include a son, Bill Novak and his wife Lisa of Hastings, Neb.; seven daughters, Brenda Caylor of Topeka, Shirley Novak of Florida, Nacny Perez and husband Jose of Paola, Betty Unselt and Rhonda Scheidt and husband Danny, all of Salina, Sharon Fowler and husband Russ of Abilene and Susan Schlosser and husband Luke of North Dakota; 16 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

A graveside inurnment will be at 1 p.m. Friday in Mount Hope Cemetery, Mankato.

Memorials may be made to American Heart Association of Kansas Lung Association.

There will be no visitation. The body was cremated.
