Mrs. Simpson was born Dorthy Lee Vaughn on Sept. 28, 1918, in Lucas. She was a registered nurse, assisting her husband in his medical practice for many years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. James Colbert Simpson, in 1982.

Survivors include a son, Jim of Ashville, N.C.; three daughters, Marylynn Kaiser of Oklahoma City, Sally Stetler of Wichita and Sue Briggs of Highlands Ranch, Colo.; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina 67401. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Salina.

A vigil and rosary service will be at 8 p.m. today at the mortuary.

Memorials may be made to the Kansas Masonic Home, Wichita.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the mortuary.
