Mr. Verhoeff was born Nov. 2, 1956, in Quinter. He was a district welder for the Kansas Department of Transportation.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Shirley Verhoeff; and an infant brother, Ricky Verhoeff.

Survivors include three daughters, Emily Verhoeff of Independence, Mo., Lindsay Verhoeff of Salina and Betsy Verhoeff of Independence; two brothers, Gary Verhoeff and wife Chris of Salina and Bill Verhoeff and wife Lisa of Lee’s Summit, Mo.; his fiancee, Carol Haven of Salina; two stepgrandchildren, Jentrie and Blaise; three nieces and three nephews; and his special friend, Winky.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina 67401. Burial will be at 3:30 p.m. Friday in Grainfield Cemetery, Grainfield.

Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the mortuary, where the family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m.
