Mildred A. Wearing
August 15, 1908 - October 13, 2006

MINNEAPOLIS -- Mildred A. Wearing, 98, Minneapolis, formerly of Salina, died Friday, Oct. 13, 2006.

Mrs. Wearing was born Mildred A. Phil on Aug. 15, 1908, in Saline County. She was a homemaker, and she and her husband, Francis Wearing, owned and operated Wearing’s Market for over 20 years.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Elmer Hagstrand, in 1935; her second husband, Francis Wearing, in 1967; a daughter, Shirley Bair in 2003; her parents, Victor and Emma Pihl; two brothers, Carl and Bernard Pihl; two sisters, Edith Zamrzla and Lillian Pihl; a grandchild; and a great-grandchild.

Survivors include a son, Tom Wearing and wife Larie of Mount Shasta, Calif.; four daughters, Kathleen Cassell and husband Joe of Salina, Marylin Breen and husband Pat of Corvallis, Ore., Judy Linholm and husband Duane of Prescott, Ariz., and Margaret Summers and husband Tom of Indianapolis; 15 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina 67401. Inurnment will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Salina.

Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society or the Good Samaritan Center in Minneapolis.

There will be no visitation. The body was cremated.
