Mr. Wendlandt was born June 16, 1939, in Herrington. He owned his own bakery, then worked for Tony’s Pizza, Salina.

Survivors include his longtime girlfriend, Amon Zachary, of Salina; a son, Darrin of Salina; a daughter, Darrah Jane Wendlandt of San Diego, Calif.; a brother, Dennis of Herrington; three sisters, Dorothy Hoover of Herrington, Delores Leggett of Belvidere, Ill., and Deanna Potter of Abilene; and three grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina 67401. Burial will be in Gypsum Hill Cemetery, Salina.

Memorials may be made to the family.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the mortuary.
