Miss Whitney was born Nov. 16, 1918, in Gillette, Wyo. She was a case worker for the Nebraska Department of Social Services.

She was preceded in death by her father, Raymond O. Whitney; her mother, Patrice McMahon Whitney; and her stepmother, Martha E. Gebauer Whitney.

Survivors include a sister, Olga Hoye of Salina; a nephew, Richard Hoye of Gypsum; and four nieces, Chris Jones of Norman, Okla., Katie Schorling of Salina, Paulette Cain of Wichita and Vickie Katz of Key West, Fla.

A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Kearney City Cemetery, Kearney, Neb.

Memorials may be made to Windsor Estates, Salina, or Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Lincoln, Neb.

There will be no visitation.
