Mrs. Beadleston was born Barbara Lea Shafer on Aug. 15, 1932, in Lincoln. She was a para-educator for Heartland Programs in Salina. She was also a beautician and operated Barbara’s Beauty Shop in Salina.

She was preceded in death by her father, Lyle Shafer; her mother, Merna Pinnick; her stepfather, Ralph Pinnick; and an infant brother.

Survivors include her husband, Alvin, of the home; four daughters, Nancy Weathers and husband Gary, Mardella Chambers and husband Blaine, and Betsy Beadleston, all of Salina, and Mary Kohr and husband Mike of Young America, Minn.; a brother, Robert Pinnick of Mission; and four grandchildren, Meaghan and Matthew Kohr and Mollie and Miles Weathers.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at University United Methodist Church, Salina, with the Rev. Mike Rose officiating. Burial will be in Gypsum Hill Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Salina, Tammy Walker Cancer Center or Heartland Programs.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina, where family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m.
