Marvin Lee Decker

Marvin Lee Decker, 83, Salina, died Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2007.

Mr. Decker was born July 13, 1924, in Otis to Jacob and Bertha Packard Decker. He owned and operated Decker Construction & Plumbing for more than 30 years. He served in the U.S. Marines from 1944 to 1946 as a private first class during World War II. He enjoyed fishing and bow hunting.

Survivors include his wife, Caroline, of the home; three sons, Michael and wife Linda of Pittsburg, John of Abilene and Bill of Salina; a daughter, Mary Walker and husband Jason of Bel Aire; three sisters, Rita Hood of Hoisington, Shirley Peterson of Phoenix and Barbara Decker of Topeka; eight grandchildren, Micki, Marvin Glen, John and Rebekah Decker, Anthony Decker and wife Sadie, Christi Skelton and husband Chad, Cari Slothower and husband Tony, and Kimberly Logue; and seven great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina 67401, the Rev. Ed Mathis officiating. A private inurnment will be in Bison Baptist Cemetery, Bison.
