Mr. Hill was born Aug. 15, 1918, in Fullerton, Calif. He was a truck driver for the Saline County Road Department for 25 years, retiring in 1989.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Rosemary, in 1977; and a great-grandchild, Casen Hill.

Survivors include three sons, James L. and wife Sandy, Steven J. and wife Gloria and Allen A. and wife Virginia, all of Salina; a daughter, Susan McConnell of Salina; 10 grandchildren, Rich Hill, Jamie Hill, Jason Hill, Terry Hill, Mike Hill, Sharalyn Davis, David Caswell, Sherry Vance, Janet Steinle and Danny McConnell; 17 great-grandchildren, Lauren Hill, Ashley Hill, Colton Hill, MaLea Hill, Tyler Hill, Mason Hill, Keelie Hill, Trenton Hill, April Vance, Christopher Steinle, Korey Steinle, Dameon McConnell, Courtney McConnell, Joshua Caswell, McKalab Caswell, Aubrey Sams and Chaylen Davis; and two great-great-grandchildren, Garritt Caswell and Aiden Hill.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina 67401. Burial will be in Gypsum Hill Cemetery, Salina.

Memorials may be made to American Diabetes Association.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the mortuary.
