Mrs. Norwood was born Irene E. Davenport on June 28, 1923, in Mankato to Earl and Christean. She was co-owner of Norwood Western Ice Company, Salina. She was also a sales clerk for Kline's Department Store and Huntsinger's Decorating center, both in Salina.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil, in 2005.

Survivors include two sons, Fred J. and wife Kim of New Cambria and Mike E. and wife Debbie of Las Vegas; two daughters, Diane Turner and husband Jack of Salina and Caroline Burrows and husband Bill of New Cambria; a brother, Gerald "Red" of Cozad, Neb.; a sister, Mary Ann Paulger of Freemont, Neb.; nine grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina 67401. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery, Salina.

Memorials may be made to the Tammy Walker Cancer Center or Saline County Emergency Food Bank.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the mortuary.
