Mr. Reed was born Aug. 30, 1931, in Dighton. He was a truck driver and a greeter at Wal-Mart.

Survivors include his wife, Edith, of the home; a son, Arlan Reed of Scott City; two daughters, Susan Hull of Scott City and Sandy Nicholson of Garden City; three stepdaughters, Susan Linton and Rollaine Carlson, both of Amarillo, Texas, and Dannette Foster of Mission; two brothers, John Reed of Dighton and Larry Reed of Arlington; two sisters, Carol Smith of Dodge City and Janis Yeager of Larned; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina 67401. Cremation will follow the service and inurnment will be at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Salina.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. today at the mortuary.
