Mr. Woods was born May 11, 1940, in Elk Falls to Harold Lester and Frances “Jeanette” Sexton Woods. He worked for Beech Aircraft in Wichita and Salina for 37 years.

He married Peggy Jolene Zorn on May 30, 1968, in Salina.

He was involved with the Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts and belonged to Gypsum United Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by his father, in 1981; his mother, in 1995; a brother, Lester Gene, in 1965; and a sister, Ella Mae Bettes, in 2007.

Survivors include his wife, Peggy of Gypsum; a son, Raymond of Salina; two daughters, Lena Yager and husband Gary of Salina and Jolene Platter of Gypsum; a brother, William “Wayne” of Independence, Ore.; and four grandchildren, Christina, Joel and Jeffery Platter, all of Gypsum, and Zebulen Yager of Salina.

A memorial service will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at United Methodist Church, Gypsum. Inurnment will be in Gypsum Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Sunflower Adult Care Center,the church or Hospice of Salina.

There will be no visitation.
