Ron Albers, 66, Salina, died Monday, August 4, 2008. He was born February 15, 1942, in Moline, Illinois. In 1959, he moved to Salina from Moline, Illinois. He served in the U.S. Army from 1963 until 1969 and was a member of the American Legion Post 62, Salina. For over 40 years, he was the owner and operator of Ron Albers Construction Company. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Annie Albers; and his first wife, Norma J. Albers in 1990. In 1995, he married Mary K. Gawith. Survivors include his wife, Mary, of the home; a son Derrin Albers of Salina; a stepson, Daniel Dreher III of Salina; four stepdaughters, Ginger Lackman of Kansas City, Missouri, and Carrie Lopez, Charity Flores and Angela Marshall, all of Salina; a brother, Bob Albers of Astor, Florida; a sister, Mary Ann Albers; and 15 grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, August 8, 2008, at Ryan Mortuary with the Rev. Paul Robbins officiating. Burial will be in Gypsum Hill Cemetery, Salina. The family suggests memorials to the American Lung Association. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina, Kansas 67401, where the family will receive friends from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. |
