Mrs. Boyd was born September 19, 1919 in Abilene, Kansas, the daughter of Walker and Nora (Holland) Van Ness. She was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Charles Van Ness, John Van Ness, Edward Van Ness; and four sisters, May Allison, Mildred Hill, Cora Benton, and Mary Lacey. Her husband, Robert F. Boyd, died in 1986.

Surivors include two sons, Ernest E. Boyd and wife Carol of Mableton, GA and Danny R. Boyd and wife Rebecca of Wichita; a daughter, Emily B. Rogers and husband William of California; she also leaves behind numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 6, 2008 at the Belmont Boulevard Church of the Nazarene, Belmont and Highland, Salina. Burial will be in Gypsum Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina 67401. Memorials may be made to the Belmont Boulevard Church of the Nazarene in care of the mortuary.
