Deborah was born March 7,1953 in Salina, Kansas, the daughter of Henry John and Clara Dorothea Marty Leiker.

She was a graduate of Salina Central High School and attended the Salina Area Vo­Tech School. She worked for Schwan’s/Tony’s Pizza for 26 years and was a Bakery Lead and Safety Committee Member and had served on various Process Improvement teams.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Eldon Carter, in 2004.

She is survived by her parents, Henry and Clara Leiker, her husbands (and therefore her own) sons and daughters; Eldon Russell Carter, Jr. and wife Patti of Salina, Kevin Carter, also of Salina, Renee Martin of Manhattan, Kansas, and Shelley Donaldson and husband Clint, of Salina.

Deborah has four brothers; Larry Leiker and wife Stephanie of St. Peters, Missouri, Curtis Leiker and wife Nancy of Wamego, Kansas, David Leiker and wife Cheryl Unruh, of Emporia, Kansas, and James Leiker of Grandview, Missouri.

She has fourteen grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, three nephews and two nieces.

Funeral services will be Saturday, July 5, 2008 at 10:00 A.M. at the First United Methodist Church, Salina, with burial following at Roselawn Cemetery in Salina, Kansas. Luncheon will be at Henry and Clara’s home at 12:00 noon, at 1202 Republic Circle in Salina. All are welcome throughout the remainder of the day.

Visitation will be Thursday, July 3, from noon until 8:00 P.M. at the Ryan Mortuary where the family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Memorials are suggested to Deborah’s church, the First United Methodist Church, or the parents First Presbyterian Church.
