Jacquelyn Sue Comfort, 67, Salina, died April 14, 2008, after a yearlong bout with leukemia. Mrs. Comfort was born Jacquelyn Sue Coleman on October 2, 1940, in Enid, OK. She graduated as an LPN from Beloit VoTech in 1981. She retired from the Nazareth Mother House in 2004 after 23 years of faithful nursing service. She was preceded in death by her father; a sister; and grandparents. Survivors include: husband, Marlan Comfort, of Salina; mother, Gertrude Long, of Enid, OK; daughter, Marla and husband Todd Hurst of Salina, KS; daughter, Cheryl and husband Matt Brewer of Independence, KS; sister, Mary and husband Richard Dittmeyer of Enid, OK; brother, Neal Coleman and wife Linda of Phoenix, AZ; 5 grandsons; 2 granddaughters; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Salina Heights Christian Church, 801 E. Cloud. Burial will follow in Miltonvale City Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina 67401, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorials may be made to Salina Bible Methodist Church or Independence Bible School, in care of the mortuary.
