Winifred I. "Winnie" Irene Gaschler, 85, died Feb. 5, 2008. She was born Winifred McKittrick, March 13, 1922, in McCracken, KS. She was a pattern maker for Beech Aircraft and an admissions clerk at St. John’s Hospital. She was a member of Catholic Business Women and PBX Club, and, more importantly, she was an exceptional mother. Mrs. Gaschler is preceded in death by her husband, Henry; and two sons, Thomas & Donald Gaschler. She is survived by one son, Francis Gaschler, Palm Springs, CA; and nine daughters, Jane Riney, M.D., Tucson, AZ, Judith Anderson, Hays, Johanna Bachtel, Brookville, Jennifer Scott, Kure Beach, N.C., Jean Gaschler, Goodland, Joan Ray, Salina, Joyce Gorjiyan, Salina, Jacqueline Cairo, Salina and Jill Gaschler, Denver. There are 18 grandchildren, Rob, Laurie, Kevin, Jennie, Adrienne, Julie, James, Matt, Amanda, Brent, Sarah, Regan, Jordan, Taylor, Adam, Jessica, Austin and Wilson; and 15 great grandchildren, Alex, Adam, Aidan, Brooke, Tatum, Colton, Khalid, Gabrielle, Christian, Logan, Isley, Noah, Ellis, Elijah and Maya. The funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 9, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Salina. Burial will be at Mount Calvary Cemetery, Salina. Vigil services will be Friday evening at the Ryan Mortuary at 7 p.m. Friends may call at the Ryan Mortuary from noon until 8 p.m. Friday. |
