Marvin E. Roe, 81, died Friday, Nov. 7, 2008, at Salina Regional Medical Center, Salina. Mr. Roe was born Marvin Earl Roe on April 22, 1927, in Solomon. He was a truck driver for Graves Truckline for many years until his retirement. He was a member of the American Legion, VFW Post 1432 and Eagles Lodge, all of Salina. He loved animals and especially his buddy, his dog named “Troubles.” He is survived by one son, Ray and wife Mary Roe, of Olatha; three daughters, Marvena Plank and husband A.V., Virginia Leiker and husband Ray, of Houston, and Jackie DeHerrea and husband Dan, of Salina; one brother, James, of New Cambria; one sister, Ruth O’Connor, of Salina; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth St., Salina 67401, where family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the mortuary, with the Rev. Paul Robbins officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery, Salina. Memorials are suggested to the American Legion, Salina. |
