Mildred Imogene Sanborn, 96, Aurora, formerly of Salina, died Thursday, July 3, 2008. Mrs. Sanborn was born February 5, 1912 in Makanda, Illinois, the daughter of William and Chlola (Rowan) Parmly. She and her husband, William R. Sanborn, owned and operated the Canary Motel in Salina. Mildred was preceded in death by her husband, William; two sons, Billy and David Sanborn; three brothers, Glen, Leslie and Leon Parmly; and two sisters, Faith Reichenberger and Zola Huff. Survivors include one son, L.L. Sanborn and wife Barbara Jean of Hutchinson; three daughters, Joyce Ditto and husband John of Port Isabel, TX, Linda Kay Vance and husband Michael Morphy of England, and Carol Sue Sanborn of Aurora; one daughter-in-law, Barbara Sanborn of Salina;10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, July 14, 2008 at Grand Avenue United Methodist Church, 137 N. Eighth, Salina 67401, with Rev. Nancy Crowl officiating. Mildred’s wish would be for all those in attendance to wear pink. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina 67401. Memorials may be made to the church. |
