Gilbert C. Thrower, 80, Salina died Feb. 17, 2008. Mr. Thrower was born Dec. 22, 1927 in Mangum, Okla. He devoted 26 years to the United States Air Force for the protection of our country. He was preceded in death by his son Johnny. Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Jacqueline; five sons, Gary, Gil, Dennis, Bruce and Mark; four daughters, Deborah Sutton, Rebecca Mullen, Elizabeth Kris and Jacqueline Dodge; a brother, David; 26 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina. Inurnment will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Salina. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Salina or the American Lung Association.
