Henrietta Louise “Henri” (Newell) Tooker, 66, Salina, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2008, at Salina Regional Health Center. She was born on April 23, 1942, in Damar to Fred E. and Marie E. (Knipp) Newell. She attended school in Damar and married Jeffrey R. Tooker on Jan. 11, 1964; they later divorced. She was working at the senior center in Salina. She received an associate’s degree in business administration in Sacramento, California. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her parents; and one brother, Max Newell. She is survived by three children, Alfred Lynn Tooker and wife Larraine and their children, Katherine, Daniel and Matthew, of Gardnerville, Nevada, Jeffrey Paul Tooker and his children, Timothy and Kristen, of San Antonio, Texas, and April Swagerty and husband Jim and their children, Madison and Emily, of Allen, Texas; two brothers, LeRoy Newell of Salina and Richard Newell of Ellis; and four sisters, Wanita Hulett of Milford, Ethel Zrubek of Salina, Marlene Newell of Arizona and Raenetta Munsterman of Atchison. A memorial Mass will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at St. Mary Queen of the Universe Catholic Church. Inurnment will follow in the All Saints Catholic Cemetery, Salina. A rosary will be said at 3:30 today at the church. Memorials may be made to the Senior Center, Salina, in care of Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina 67401. |
