Ray C. Walker

BROOKVILLE — Ray C. Walker, 81, Brookville, died Wednesday, July 30, 2008. He was born June 11, 1927, in Carneiro to the late Ray C. Walker and Evelyn Sheridan. He worked as a rancher in the Brookville area for more than 60 years and dedicated his life to leaving his land in better condition than when he received it.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Joyce Walker, in 1995; two brothers, Frank and Bob; and three sisters, Virginia, Ramona and Sherry.

Survivors include his wife, Linda Walker, of Brookville; son, Glenn Walker and wife Barbara, Brookville; daughter, Linda Presley and husband Scott, Larned; two stepsons, Robert Lundblade, Manhattan, and Nate Shelton, Courtland; one stepdaughter, Nell Kinnaird, Salina; three brothers, Duane Walker and wife Jo, Canton, Don Walker, Salina, and Bill Walker and wife Carol, Brookville; five sisters, Helen Pflughoeft, Salina, Berniece Zimmerman and husband Claude, North Platt, NE, Dixie Walker, Salina, Geri Elam and husband Monte, Salina, and Ernestine Allen and husband Robert, Salina; four grandchildren, Tom Walker and wife Maria, Jeff Walker and wife Lisa, Jennifer Pearce and husband Chuck, and Jedidiah Presley; one great-grandchild, Patrick Pearce; and five stepgrandchildren, Mikayla and Nicole Lundblade, Breanna and D.J. Chaput, and Wesley and Layna Kinnaird.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Ryan Mortuary, Salina.

Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 2, 2008, at the mortuary, followed by burial in Carniero Cemetery, Carniero.

Memorial contributions may be given to Kansas Society of Crippled Children.
