He married Jacqueline Morey on Aug. 9, 1986, in Salina. He was a psychologist and worked with the Wounded Warrior program at Fort Riley.

Gary was preceded in death by his father, Don.

Survivors include his wife, Jaci, of the home; their daughter, Lana Walsh, Topeka; his mother, Rose Marie Walsh, Salina; six siblings, Donna Seifried and husband Bill, Jeffersonville, Ind., Janice Rogers and husband Randy, Mulvane, Michael and wife Cheryl, Salina, Jolene Gordine and husband Mike, Salina, Robert and wife Tina, Concordia, and David and wife Paula, Maize; brothers-in-law, Mike Morey and wife Charlotte, Fargo, N.D., Bruce Morey and wife Martha Billings, Mont.; sister-in-law, Toni and husband Richard Smith, Bismarck, N.D; and 26 nieces and nephews.

Vigil and rosary services will be at 6:30 p.m. Monday at Ryan Mortuary, where friends may call from noon to 8 p.m.

The funeral Mass will be at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2008, at St. Mary’s Queen of the Universe Catholic Church, followed by burial in All Saints Catholic Cemetery, Salina. Memorials may be made to Sacred Heart Junior-Senior High School, Hope Lodge of Kansas City, Mo., or Kay Pogue Hospice of Salina.
