She was born Verla Henry, August 25, 1915 in Beatrice, NE. Verla was homemaker and a kind and gentle person. She often cared for family, providing child care and also served as a Foster Parent.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin, in 2001.

She is survived by a sister, Florence Kern of Salina and many nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be 11:00 AM Saturday at the Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. 8th., Salina. Private Inurnment in the Gypsum Hill Cemetery, Salina. Cremation was selected. There is no visitation. Memorial contributions are to St. Andrew's Catholic School, Abilene.
