Edna E. Ashton, 87, of Salina, died Wednesday, May 20, 2009. She was born Jan. 23, 1922, in Elmdale, the daughter of David and Elizabeth Hasker. Edna worked as a bookkeeper for more than 50 years for Miller Grain Company in Salina. She was a member of Sacred Heart Cathedral and Sacred Heart Ladies Guild. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry L. Ashton, in 1990; one brother; and two sisters. Survivors include a son, Hank Ashton, of Salina; two daughters, Patricia Painter, of Sun City, Ariz., and Phyllis Harper, of Salina; one brother, Dave Hasker, of Solomon; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina, with a vigil at 6:30 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 26, at Sacred Heart Cathedral, with burial in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Salina. Memorial gifts are to Pinnacle Care Rehabilitation or the church. |
