Clyde M. Bettes Sr., 67, of Salina, died Sunday, April 12, 2009. He was born May 26, 1941, in Watova, Okla., to Wilbur and Mable Bettes. Clyde served in the Marines for six years. He owned and operated Bettes Auction and Sales on Fourth Street, retiring in 1998 due to illness. He is preceded in death by his father; a sister, Peggy Summers; and two sons, Michael and Thomas. He is survived by his mother, Mable Bettes, of Dodge City; brothers, Alvin, of Salina, Jim and Kenny, of Pratt, and Donny, of Great Bend; sisters, Mary Thompson, of Dodge City, Nancy Garland, of California; his wife, Rosemary, of Salina; sons, Clyde Jr., of Katy, Texas, and Chris and Tim, of Salina; daughters, Lynette Swepston, of Cypress, Texas, and Beth DeMoura, of Wake Forest, N.C.; 12 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at noon Friday, April 17, at Ryan Mortuary, Salina. Friends may call at the mortuary through Friday morning until the hour of the service. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the family would be appreciated. |
