Clarence H. Blakeley
January 1, 1914 - February 23, 2009

Tech Sergeant Clarence H. Blakeley U.S.A.F. ret., 95, of Salina, died Feb. 23, 2009. He was born Jan. 1, 1914, in Clayton, New Mexico, the son of Alcano & Elizabeth Blakeley. He served in the Army and Air Force for over 30 years. After the military, he owned and operated Blakeley Air Conditioning and Refrigeration. He was a life member of VFW Post 1432. He was a past commander and past chaplain of Post 1432, and served as chaplain for the 6th District of Kansas VFW. He was also a member of Church of the Cross United Methodist; American Legion Post 62; T.R.E.A.; D.A.V. Chapter 11, Order of Cootie; and Air Force Sergeants Assoc.

He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers; a sister; and two grandchildren. Survivors include his wife, Roberta, of Salina; two sons, Mark Hoard and wife Geri and Jeff Hoard and wife Cheryl, both of Salina; a sister, Billie Duff and husband Jim, of Houston, TX; 13 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 27, at Ryan Mortuary, Salina. Burial is in Roselawn Memorial Park, Salina. Memorial gifts are to the Church of The Cross Parking Lot Fund. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, at Ryan Mortuary, where the family will greet visitors from 6 to 8 p.m.
