MINNEAPOLIS — Frank David Huiett, 68, Minneapolis, died Thursday, Jan. 22, 2009. He was born March 21, 1940, in Salina, the son of David Edward and Myrtle Bertha (Young) Huiett. On June 6, 1958, he married Colene Kay Smith. He lived in Minneapolis most of his life. Frank worked as a heavy machine and diesel mechanic and drove for Titus Transportation and Brisk Transportation. Survivors include his wife, Colene; three daughters, Marlene Baker and husband LeRoy, Sheryl Huiett, and Mary Suwarno and husband Dedi, all of Salina; one son, Michael Huiett, of Salina; one honorary son, Carl Kidd, of Salina; three brothers, Richard L. Huiett, of Minneapolis, and John A. Huiett and Paul D. Huiett, both of Salina; four grandsons, Shawn Baker, Lee Baker, Brandan Sears and Christopher Huiett; one granddaughter, Valerie Stuart; two great-grandchildren, Nicholas and Jesslyn Stuart; and many friends. Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 25, at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth St., Salina 67401, with family receiving friends from 4 to 5 p.m. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 26, at Grand Avenue United Methodist Church, 304 W. Grand Ave., Salina 67401, with the Rev. Nancy Crowl and the Rev. Wayne DeWindt officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery, Minneapolis. Memorials may be made to the Frank Huiett Memorial fund and may be sent in care of the mortuary. |
