Pauline P. Lorenz
June 8, 1924 - June 23, 2009

BROOKVILLE -- Pauline P. Lorenz, 85, died Tuesday, June 23, 2009. She was born June 8, 1924, in Ellsworth to Fred and Ethel (Bradford) Lorenz.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Ruth Armbrust; and a brother, Fred E. Lorenz.

Survivors include a sister, Louise (Lorenz) Armbrust, of Brookville; a nephew, Delbert Armbrust and Patsy, of Brookville; nieces, Leanna Harris and Olen, of Stella, Mo., Anita Shoemaker and Lee, of St. George, Lori Frick and Rick, of Platteville, Colo., Kendra Hahn and Jeff, of Sterling, Colo., and Lila Mcconnell, of Loveland, Colo.; and nine great- and six great-great-nieces and nephews in Kansas and Colorado.

Pauline graduated from elementary school one-half mile from her home. She continued on later and acquired her high school diploma. She worked on her parents' farm and did whatever was needed. She got a job with Westinghouse and later with Philips Lighting and upon retiring, resided at her home in Brookville.

During this time, she was a faithful member of Carneiro United Methodist Church, taught Sunday school for many years, and played the organ and piano for the church her whole lifetime.

She taught music lessons to many students at local schools. This included piano, guitar, drums, accordion and other instruments.

There will be no visitation. A memorial service is planned on Saturday, Sept. 5, at the United Methodist Church, Carneiro, followed by interment in Ellsworth Memorial Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the church.
