WILSON -- Wanda J. Gustafson-Young, of Wilson, formerly of Salina, went to live with her maker Thursday, March 4, 2010, at the age of 79. She was born June 15, 1930, in Kevil, Ky., to Crawford Cooper and Pearl (Parker-Cooper) Booth. Wanda was raised by her mother and stepfather, Pearl and Lowell Booth. She graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School, Long Beach, Calif., where she was a member of Delta Gamma Phi and served as vice president, treasurer and secretary. Wanda resided in Salina for 29 years. She worked 10 years for the Salina Labor Building and later for Gibson's Food Market until retirement. Wanda moved to Wilson in 2009 to be closer to her family. She loved her extended family and had a passion for crocheting and family gatherings. Wanda was preceded in death by her husband, Merle Young; father, Crawford Cooper; mother, Pearl Booth; stepfather, Lowell "Dad" Booth; brother, Jackie Cooper; son, Dale "John" Gustafson; and stepdaughters, Ilene Mentz and Joyce Ralston. Survivors include the father of her children, Dale Gustafson, of Wilson; daughters, Deborah Webster, of Dorrance, Katherine Robison, of Yoder, Colo., Linda Ridder and husband Paul, of Wilson, and Dianna Brunsell, of Tescott; stepchildren, Nola Bixler, of Springfield, Mo., and Dale Young and wife Allyson, of Olathe; 21 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; and numerous great-great-grandchildren. Wanda will be greatly missed by all that knew her and those she left behind. The memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 13, at the Lions Building, Tescott, followed by burial in Franklin Cemetery, Tescott.
