Dorothy A. (Debold) Winslow
July 27, 1918 - January 27, 2012

Dorothy A. (Debold) Winslow, 93, of Salina, died Friday, Jan. 27, 2012, at Presbyterian Manor, Salina. Mrs. Winslow was born July 27, 1918, at the former St. John’s Hospital in Salina to Henry C. and Anna (Hinnenkamp) Debold.

Dorothy and her husband were third-generation farmers in the New Cambria area, and the farm continues in the Winslow family. She also had worked for the former Gibson’s Store in Salina and was the manager of the jewelry department for over 13 years.

Dorothy was a member of the Sacred Heart Cathedral, the Church Ladies Guild and was a past president, and the Ladies of Columbus. She was a 1935 graduate of Sacred Heart High School. Dorothy was a person of gentle nature, enjoyed helping others, and will be missed by her family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Dorris, in 1986. Survivors include two sons, Gary E. and wife Corina Winslow, of New Cambria, and Stephen J. and wife Margaret Winslow, of Plano, Texas; one sister, Margaret (Debold) Hohlt, of St. Louis, her grandchildren, Cathy Lott, Elise Winslow, Stephen Winslow Jr. and Alex Winslow; seven great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

A vigil/rosary service will be at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 31, at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at the mortuary. The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 1, at Sacred Heart Cathedral, Ninth and Iron avenues, with Father Allen Scheer as celebrant. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Salina.
