Carol Colleen Claussen, 67, of Salina, is now free of pain, no longer a prisoner in a failing body. She slipped away Oct. 19, 2017, after a long illness. Colleen was born April 23, 1950, to Leo and Grace Claussen, the first of six children.
After high school Colleen attended vocational school and became a welder, a profession she worked lifelong. Colleen was a friend to all animals, nursing several wild babies until they could be returned to nature. She had many friends, enjoyed the outdoors, and loved old movies.
Colleen’s passing is mourned by: her mother, Grace; step-father, Gerald Rufener; sisters, Kathleen Livingood (Rich), Lynn Cochran, Therese Claussen, and Anne Hill (Lonnie); auntie, Tina Claussen; and many nieces and nephews. She is also greatly missed by Mouse, her beloved feline companion.
Colleen was preceded in death by: her father, Leo; and brother, James Claussen.
Graveside service for family and friends will be held in Dorrance at a later date.
