BROOKVILLE — Violet Maxine Wernecke, 90, passed away Nov. 29, 2017, at her daughter’s home in Brookville. She was born March 19, 1927, in White City, the daughter of Henry and Emma (Mott) Wernecke. Violet was retired but previously worked for Stiefel’s clothing store, Tony’s Pizza, and then later at Walmart.
She is survived by: her children, Sue Deters (John) of Park City, Sidney Wernecke of Salina, Sondra Wiegand of Salina, Mark Wernecke (Jenny) of Oklahoma City, Wesley Wernecke (Sharon) of Salina, Robin Nash of Brookville, and David Wernecke of Shawnee; 23 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and sisters, Carolyn Allendorfer (Ron) of Tennessee, and Jean Blanton (Ed) of Texas.
She is preceded in death by: her husband, Charles; her son, Richard; her brother, Robert; and her parents.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 3, at Ryan Mortuary, Salina.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 4, at Ryan Mortuary, Salina, with burial in White City Cemetery, at 12:30 p.m. with lunch to follow at 1 p.m. at the First Christian Church, White City.
